I have some questions about Catholic which involve with some dating problems to me recently. My coach at my church told me that it’s not God’s will to be with a Catholic (well, my boyfriend is a Catholic). Also, she asked me even though he believes in Him, is he saved by theLord?

However, there’re some other coaches that I know from another church said that I can pray to God and ask Him is he the one who’s given by the Lord since my boyfriend is also in Him. They told me just to let him know about the different concepts about Catholic and Christian. Sometimes I don’t really know how to face my church’s sisters and brothers.

Also, my boyfriend told me that he has a Catholic friend and his girlfriend is a Christian. They are getting marry in this year. I really wonder about this and please help me a little bit on this. Thank you very much!

Thanks for your mail concerning about the relationship with your Catholic boyfriend. I have a feeling that you are confused because the teaching from your coach is different from those in other churches. Besides, you do not feel confortable to share your burden with other brothers and sisters because you think you would be rejected. Though, you are facing difficulties in your relationship with your boyfriend, I believe that if he is the one Lord given to you, He would bless your relationship and your process of seeking God’s will.

I agree that you should have more understanding on the differences between of Catholic and Christianity. It is because some of the Catholic practices are not accepted according to the Bible. For example, they would pray to 「Saint Apostles」 and 「Saint Mary」. I do not mean that he is not saved by Jesus simply for these practices. Sometimes, this kind of differences of practices would cause conflicts and problems on your relaionship with him. What I most concern about is whether you two can share the same believe and value in your relationship. I suggest you to have brief study on the difference between Catholic and Christainity by yourself and your boyfriend, discuss with him on these differences. Try to go through these by yourself first. Then, you would have more in-depth understanding on this issue. I believe our Lord is a living God. He listens to our prayer and does help us upon our request. So, remember to PRAY, let Him shows what you should do on this relationship in the whole process.

May God bless you and your boyfriend.
